Working towards the documentation and legal recognition of African customary practice in land, water, fire, building and seasonal knowledge.

Pre-hearing translation, plain-language explainers, submission clinics and participation audit tool, so communities can take part in consultations on their own terms.
How the work moves
Listen and convene
We begin with the people whose work, households and places are affected. Their questions shape the research agenda before a conclusion is drafted.
Document and test
We bring field knowledge into conversation with policy, technical evidence and law, then test whether the resulting language can be used in real decisions.
Publish and return
Our work is made citable and usable. We return findings to the communities and institutions involved through materials that can travel beyond a single meeting.
